Worldwide launch
for ASUS ZenFone

Multilingual countdown website and live event broadcasting

Challenge

ASUS, one of the world’s largest IT companies, has been in the electronics market for more than 20 years and excels in the production of PCs, laptops, motherboards, monitors etc.

However, their entry into the mobile phone segment is rather recent. We were tasked with helping them rev up consumer interest in the run-up to the crucial launch of their first smartphone generation – ZenFones 4, 5 and 6. The project spanned several countries.

In order to intrigue users and retain engagement before the launch, we suggested creating a multilingual warm-up website. It was accompanied by a digital advertising campaign in target regions.

The website presented a countdown to the product launch event. It was designed to reveal a new feature of ASUS ZenFone smartphones each day. That way, the prospective customer had motivation to visit the site daily to discover something new about the product. On each page, the visitors could sign up to a newsletter informing them when ASUS ZenFones would be available for purchase in their country. On the final day, the page turned into a clock counting down minutes until the ZenFone launch.

The official launch was being streamed live online on the same website. The website was localized into several languages and the video broadcast was available with simultaneous interpretation. During the two weeks that the warm-up site was up and running, it received more than 200 thousand unique visitors and the launch broadcast assembled an audience of 50 thousand online viewers. The marketing campaign helped the company spread the word and create a buzz around their new product, which was well-received by the crowd and attracted prospective buyers.
