Coffee(In)Touch Guides

Cross-platform coffee shop guides for multiple cities

www.coffeeintouch.com

Challenge

Specialty coffee has replaced tea as London’s favourite beverage. Being a coffee hotspot, the city has numerous independent coffee shops, but customers struggle to find the best.

With so many venues popping up across town, our clients found it harder and harder to distinguish between places with good specialty coffee and the “coffee imposters”. The idea behind Coffee(In)Touch Guides was to create the ultimate guide to the best independent coffee houses, coffee shops and cafes in the city. The target audience was early adapters of gadgets and technology, who wanted to have up-to-date coffee maps at their fingertips. Being coffee fanatics ourselves, we jumped at the chance to be part of such a great cause. After successfully launching the London guide, we decided to create guides for other coffee hubs around the world – initially Paris, New York, Vienna and Sydney. We have been with Coffee(In)Touch from the start – providing consulting services, designing the UX/UI and project architecture, frontend and backend design, as well as digital promotion of the released product.

solution

We created a series of apps that are easy to use and serve as great companions for coffee lovers exploring cities with a vibrant coffee culture. The apps are suitable for locals or tourists.

All Coffee(In)Touch Guide apps are available offline and display coffee shops in map view or list view. Both options clearly show which nearby cafes are open at that time. The List View allows you to sort venues by various parameters. The Top 25 list is expertly selected and updated regularly in response to ratings and reviews. Detailed coffee shop profiles show everything you need to know: name, address, phone number that can be instantly dialled, opening hours, Wi-Fi availability, map location, professional photos, expert reviews and ratings. All the content is dynamic and constantly updated. Users can leave reviews, submit photos and rate cafes – all within the app. The Coffee(In)Touch website reflects the same functionality found within the apps. Coffee shop owners can request their venues be included in the guides via a form on the site.
London: Coffee(In)Touch Guide met a phenomenally positive response from users and the UK App Store top-ranked it as the hottest 'Food & Drink' guide for a year. Following the success of the first guide, we released apps for other cosmopolitan cities, such as New York, Paris, Vienna and Sydney. Coffee(In)Touch is an ongoing project with regularly updated databases and functionalities, as well as the addition of more cities. Plans for the near future include a loyalty scheme and capacity to order and pay for purchases within the app.
