Online game contest


The Christmas holidays are the perfect time to promote a product and increase brand awareness. Nokia wanted to take advantage of this.

For the month of December, the world is alive with the festive spirit – people are making holiday plans, buying presents, enjoying family time and celebrating. We proposed to take advantage of the heightened emotions of the season and create an online game to promote the smartphone Nokia N9. The game was to be filled with appropriate holiday vocabulary, symbols and cute characters to melt hearts and create a positive attitude towards the product.


The online game consisted of an advent calendar with a prize giveaway for every day in December.

Participants had to choose the current date and open the calendar box to discover the prize of the day and play the game. They had to collect 15 icons with N9 features within a minute. Icons fell from the top of the page, like snowflakes in a snowfall. At the end of the game, players could register for the contest and earn extra points for sharing with friends via social media and inviting referrals. The player with the most points won that day’s prize.
The game was incredibly well received by the audience in a number of EMEA countries. The contest garnered more than 800 000 players, 30% of whom were referred participants. There were 150 000 social media posts. Our client saw a significant boost in sales during the campaign month and gained a large pool of loyal subscribers.
